Panasonic Shipping Value-Priced 4k TVs
For those who have been considering an Ultra HD TV from Panasonic but waiting for the price to be more practical, Panasonic is now shipping five “value-priced” 4k TVs that range from $749 to $1,399. The CX400U and CX420U series are designed with a black bezel or matte silver bezel, respectively, and come in 50″ (CX400U only), 55″ and 65″ sizes. Read more
JetBlue Passengers Stream Prime Video Free
Amazon and JetBlue have teamed up to offer free live streaming of TV shows and movies exclusively for Prime members. The airline’s Fly-Fi broadband network is already installed on 150 aircraft, with plans to complete the installation in 2016. Read more
PlayStation 4 Bundles Dropped to $299 For Holiday
During Black Friday you could get your hands on PlayStation 4 bundle for $299, but then the price of select 500GB bundles went back up to $349. On Dec. 6, however, the PS4 Star Wars: Battlefront and PS4 Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection both dropped back down to $299, as Sony attempts to sell a few more units before the end of 2015. Amazon Video App Coming to Apple TV
Apple and Amazon have not always played friendly with each other in the sandbox: both treat video and audio purchases as exclusive to the platform; but now sources say a native Amazon Video app is in development for Apple TV’s new tvOS platform that was made open to developers. Read more
Verizon Offers Star Wars Google Cardboard Viewers
At select Verizon retail stores last week customers could pick up their choice of four Star Wars-designed Google Cardboard viewers that can be used with the Star Wars app for iOS and Android phones. With Google Cardboard, users can check out the immersive VR episode titled “Jakku Spy.” SW collectors take note: a set of 4 is going for as much as $200 on eBay. Read more
UltraFlix 4k Launches on Roku 4
Roku 4 owners who want to check out some Ultra HD content can download the UltraFlix app channel and rent or purchase titles. The channel is made of both native 4k titles and titles that have been scanned to 4k and digitally restored for Ultra HD presentation. Read more
