First ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 2′ trailer released

Here it is, the first look at what will be the biggest selling game of the year when it releases 11-13-12. This first trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 shows St. Frank Woods from the first game now as a weathered old coot bemoaning the fact that technology keeps trying to trump man’s fighting spirit. Anyone else getting some very heavy Metal Gear Solid 4 vibes from this?

A few hours before Activision wanted to go public with it, the news has leaked about the next Call of Duty game. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 appears set for a November 13 release, and despite the first game taking place in the 1960s, the sequel will find the warfare has moved to the future. The early info came from the game’s UK site, which has now been swamped, but the full reveal will take place tonight with a trailer during the NBA playoffs.

‘God of War: Ascension’ to include multiplayer

We’re getting some juicy new nuggets about the recently announced God of War: Ascension, with the main one being the inclusion of multiplayer for the first time ever in a God of War game. Game director Todd Papy talked in length (see video here) this morning about the changes he and his Sony Santa Monica Studios team are making to the PlayStation franchise, including adapting the game engine for eight-player matches on five to seven maps. Series star Kratos will not be playable online, but of course he’s the focus of the single player campaign, as this prequel seeks to shed light on just why he became so angry.

The latest Far Cry 3 trailer features more drugs and death than a Grateful Dead concert in a piranha pool. Yes, that’s a Grateful Dead reference you just read. Looking at the trailer, it appears mushrooms of some sort are on the menu here for the protagonist, and yes, just as in real life, they do make killing blood-thirsty mercenaries more difficult. Quantic Dream’s PS3 tech demo ‘Kara’ dazzles

Video game developer David Cage and his studio Quantic Dream are known for creating cinematic, emotion-driven video games like Heavy Rain and Indigo Prophecy. Their latest creation is a tech demo unveiled at the 2012 Game Developers Conference that, while not presented as a game, offers excellent graphics and an even better narrative during its 7-minute runtime. “Kara” focuses on the construction of a female robot and the conversation between the droid and her creator, which takes a disturbing turn.
