As the Grapefruit and Cactus Spring Training Leagues kicked into gear, the MLB released updates for the MLB.com At Bat app to take us into the 2014 season. The app for Apple iOS and Google Anrdroid devices include new features specific to each of the mobile platforms, as well as new Spring Training enhancements.
On iOS, the app has been completely redesigned to improve experience on Apple iPads and iPhones, with the ability now to deliver inline video playback. There’s also a new league-wide scoreboard that can be expanded with a single-tap.
On Android, the MLB.com At Bat app now allows you to choose multiple teams (what was one of the biggest limitations of previous versions), and get push notifications for every run-scoring play from teams you choose (you can also turn these off if you choose).
The apps also feature quite a few updates specifically for Spring Training, including the ability to watch live video from over 200 games, radio broadcasts for games (if available), and batter-by-batter action for every Spring Training game.
The free Version 7.0.0 (27.1MB) app for Apple iOS devices is available at iTunes. Upgrade options include an annual fee of $19.99 or $2.99 per month.
The free Version 3.0.0 for Android devices is available at Play.Google.com. File size will vary depending on device. Subscription options One-time annual fee of $19.99 for the entire 2014 season from Spring Training through the World Series.
Good news for MLB.TV Premium subscribers as they receive At Bat 14 for free.
