AT&T expands HD channels and multi-cultural networks

AT&T’s U-verse TV will introduce more HD channel options on Nov. 10 with a new HD Premium package. The package will feature Universal HD, MGM HD and Smithsonian Channel HD. The premium HD package will be available for an additional $5 a month. More channels will be added to the HD Premium package in the future.

AT&T is also expanding its multi-language and multi-cultural channel offerings. Those channels include the Mandarin Package (includes CTI-Zhong Tian Channel, Phoenix InfoNews and Phoenix North American Chinese Channel), and the Polish Package (includes TV Polonia and TVP Info).

Other new multi-cultural offerings include the Russian Package (includes RTR Planeta and Channel One Russia), TV5MONDE (features programs from France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and Quebec), and Setanta Sports (features live European and international soccer, rugby and other sports).
