Sony recently released firmware upgrades for several Blu-ray systems, enabling them to playback 3D-enabled Blu-ray Discs. At the same time, the company announced new 3D Blu-ray players and 3D Blu-ray Home Theater Systems. From June 13 through June 19, SonyStyle.com is discounting the new 3D players, with markdowns ranging from $20 to $50 per unit.
The Sony BDP-S470 3D Blu-ray Disc Player
Customers who purchase the Sony BDP-S470 3D Blu-ray Disc Player (WiFi adapter ready) will get a $20 discount from the list price of $199. The player streams internet video, is controllable by iPhone or iPod (via free BD Remote app), and DLNA Certified.
The Sony BDP-S570 3D Blu-ray Disc Player
Sony is offering a $30 discount (Reg. $249) on the BDPS570 player, which, unlike the the entry level S470 is WiFi ready out-of-the-box. The player is also DLNA Certified, controllable by iPhone or iPod, and features internet video streaming.
The Sony BDV-E570 3D Home Theater System
Those who purchase the BDV-E570 3D Blu-ray Home Theater System (Reg. $549) will get a $50 discount. The HTS features wireless streaming video from sites like Ntflix and YouTube, DLNA compatibility, 5.1 channel audio and support for LPCM, Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD master audio formats.
The Sony BDV-E770W 3D Home Theater System
Finally, the BDV-E770W offers all the all the features of the BDV-E570 listed above but with the advantage of having wireless rear speakers. The discount on the E770W is $50 of the regular price of $599.
