Netflix has added more Universal titles to its DVD, Blu-ray and streaming library, as well as signing a distribution agreement with the studio that firms up a delay window for new releases. The 28-day window will allow Universal to maximize their sales of discs and digital downloads during that time.
The first Universal title to release under the agreement will be It’s Complicated (2009). The movie will become available to Netflix subscribers a month after it’s street date of April 27.
The agreement also added Universal titles to Netflix’s streaming library. New titles from Universal available instantly include Gosford Park, Billy Elliott, The Pianist, Being John Malkovich and Do the Right Thing.
Netflix has also signed a deal with Twentieth Century Fox. (Read article)
