Time Warner Cable has reached and will surpass the 100 HD channel mark according to the Star-Gazette which serves the Elmira, NY area. The cable company added MSNBC HD and Smithsonian HD On Demand on Tuesday, and plans to add TCM HD and HLN (Headline News) HD tomorrow.
Time Warner Cable said their use of a technology called “switched digital video” along with digital processing tools and efficient use of its cable and fiber-optic network have allowed more programming on the available bandwidth.
The additional channels are available at no additional charge if you subscribe to TWC, have an HD capable receiver and HDTV.
