Comcast adds titles to On Demand HD library

Comcast added several award winning films to their On Demand high-definition (HD) library this month. Academy-Award winner Slumdog Millionaire was added On Demand, and nominees The Wrestler, Milk, Frost/Nixon, Rachel Getting Married and Changeling are being added today simultaneous with the DVD and Blu-ray releases.

Other blockbuster films added to the Comcast On Demand library this month in HD include: Quantum of Solace, Yes Man, Cadillac Records and Marley & Me.

“This month customers can watch On Demand movies that received 10 Academy Awards and 30 nominations from 2009 – in HD – with a click of their remote,” said Derek Harrar, GM/Senior VP of Video Services for Comcast.

Comcast’s current On Demand library includes 10,000 titles, with 1,000 titles offered in HD. The company’s “Project Infinity” aims to offer “exponentially more quality content choice on TV, including more HD” to its 24 million plus cable customers.
