AT&T recently made an agreement with Viacom to broadcast seven new high-definition (HD) channels on its IPTV based U-verse service. The agreement includes MTV HD, VH1 HD, CMT HD, BET HD, Nickelodeon HD, Comedy Central HD and Spike HD all of which will be added later this year.
The agreement also renewed licenses to continue carriage of 24 Viacom owned channels as well as provide VOD content on U-verse. U-verse also plans add MTV India later in the year, part of an international element of the deal.
