Early this week LIN TV made a deal with DirecTV to broadcast both analog and high-definition channels. The agreement will include television stations owned by LIN TV in 15 markets. Some markets include Albuquerque, Austin, Buffalo, Dayton, Grand Rapids, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Springfield, Providence, Norfolk, and Hartford-New Haven.
This comes after LIN TV and Charter Communications had failed to come to an agreement to broadcast local stations in seven markets some of which include the Grand Rapids, Green Bay, Hartford and Providence areas. The latest news however, is that Charter will continue LIN TV channels as they are close to signing a continuation agreement.
Satellite provider Dish Network is currently offering customers a $50 incentive to sign-up with the service provider, who is carrying the local HD channels from LIN TV.
