DirecTV has announced it will carry the IndyCar Series in high definition as the official sponsor. The HD coverage will start on April 6 with the Honda Indy Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. This season will be the first complete season of the IndyCar Series in high definition.
The 2008 IndyCar Series races will be available on ABC Sports/ESPN networks. This will be the 13th year that the IndyCar Series will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. In addition to to sponsoring the races, DirecTV will also sponsor Vision Racing throughout the season, so you will notice their branding on the Vision Racing cars.
