Disney’s Movies Anywhere service (the platform that has essentially replaced UltraViolet) is sending out emails to members requesting them to update their accounts.
This may not be an email you want to ignore. In the update, MA requests you “renew” your settings. The first section focuses on data sharing. This means MA will continue to share your video data with connected retailers, studios, and service providers. This apparently is at the core of keeping your digital purchases associated with one “digital locker.”
The second section affirms your connections with digital retailers. MA notes these connections may “expire over time,” which is a concerning premise within itself, but nevertheless necessary to keep Movies Anywhere a practical solution.
The retailers that members might need to update affiliations include Amazon Prime Video, Apple iTunes, Comcast’s Xfinity, FandangoNow, Google Play/YouTube, Microsoft’s Movies & TV, and Walmart’s Vudu.
The Movies Anywhere renewals require customers to log-in to each retailer account and approve of the data sharing.
