There are plenty of upcoming 4k Blu-ray titles to get excited about, and we’ve got at least a dozen new titles slated for May, not including exclusive Steelbook editions from Best Buy. Let’s take a look at some highlights followed by the full list. Save this page and check back for any new additions!
On May 7, you can pick up Black Hawk Down (2001) and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part on 4k Blu-ray either in a standard case or SteelBook edition. Also releasing the same day are Backdraft (1991), Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008), and Paramount’s double-dip of Forrest Gump to Ultra HD Blu-ray, except this time in a 25th Anniversary edition that appears to have an official release date of May 7 but is already listed on Amazon to order.
On May 14, Cold Pursuit, Field of Dreams (30th Anniversary Edition), Godzilla (1998), and King Kong (Ultimate Edition) hit stores on Ultra HD Blu-ray, all of which can be purchased in 4k SteelBook editions with the exception of Cold Pursuit.
On May 21, action film Crank starring Jason Statham and DreamWorks’ How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World both get 4k Blu-ray releases — the latter releasing to disc for the first time. What’s more, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World will get an exclusive SteelBook edition from at Best Buy.
