Avengers 4 Endgame Fan Theories And Trailer Easter Eggs

Following the most traumatic set of events in to occur in the MCU (Avengers: Infinity War), the Avengers 4 Endgame trailer is finally here, and with it comes a bunch of fan theories Easter eggs. Fans understand the Thanos snap which dusted their favorite characters, and half the universe’s population, is temporary — but what remains a mystery is how they return, and who may permanently fall in the process.

Warning! Possible spoilers ahead (or not).

Adrift In Space

Tony Stark and Nebula are last seen on Titan (Thanos’ home planet) in Avengers: Infinity War, being the only to survive his infamous snap. Many speculated there would be a large time gap between Infinity War and Endgame, but the trailer hints otherwise.

Tony and Nebula are stranded in space, possibly due to the Benatar being damaged when Thanos chucked a moon at the team during their last battle with him. Iron Man is a genius, but he’s no Rocket regarding repairing spaceships. Could an error in making repairs resulted in them being stranded?

And who will save our adrift heroes?

One theory points to Pepper Potts creating her own suit following the snap (named Rescue in the comics), using it to pinpoint Tony’s location from the message he sends in the trailer. Other theories state Captain Marvel will stumble across them on her way to Earth, and there’s even a possibility the surviving Asgardians (Valkyrie and crew) respond to their distress signal.

Robert Downy Jr. also might have spoiled the dark and bleak scene featured in the Avengers 4 Endgame trailer, stating in an Audi USA YouTube video (promoting the Audi e-Tron GT concept car) that he drove the car in Endgame and wants to drive it IRL.

Missing Opposed To Dusted

Several individuals are shown missing or dusted in a clip at the Avengers facility within the Avengers 4 Endgame trailer. What’s important to note is the one’s marked missing as opposed to dusted. Scott Lang is prominently featured as missing, but so is Shiri.

Some speculate Shiri took Wakanda back underground and is developing technology which will play a major role in Endgame. She may also be using the Black Panther technology to keep Wakanda safe while keeping an eye on the rest of the world.

All About Timing

A very popular theory floating around the inter-web involves Dr. Strange and his inter-dimension mind trip in Avengers: Infinity War, searching for possible victorious outcomes. Fans were livid at Star-Lord following his outburst towards Thanos, but it’s possible the whole thing was coordinated.

Based on Dr. Strange stating, “We’re in the endgame now” (also mentioned in Avengers: Age of Ultron by Tony Stark) the theory states the delay was done on purpose, so Ant-Man would be in the Quantum Realm during the snap.

Scott Lang is shown during the end of the Endgame trailer, but upon a closer look, the video is not a live feed. In the top left corner is the word “Archive” and a blurry year which looks like 1983. This could mean Ant-Man became stuck in a time vortex, popping him out in the past as opposed to the present day. Will he show up in Captain Marvel?

Ronin Is Here

Not too many were sad over Hawkeye not appearing in Avengers: Infinity War, but fans are rejoicing now because Ronin is here. Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) in the comics transitions to the gritty Ronin after losing his family, making it likely the Thanos snap triggered such an outcome in the MCU timeline.

Clint is clearly somewhere in Japan, based on the Avengers 4 Endgame trailer, so it seems likely either Wong or Dr. Strange catch wind of his new exploits and recruit him back into the Avengers team.

The Infinity Gauntlet Is Busted

The Russo Brothers confirmed Thanos is on a planet called Titan 2 in Endgame, but the kicker is not where he is, but the status of the Infinity Gauntlet. In the trailer and the final shots of Infinity War, Thanos’ armor is seen displayed in a scarecrow-like fashion.

In the Avengers 4 Endgame trailer, Thanos is shown walking through fields of high grass (armor in the background) with the Infinity Gauntlet still on his hand. It’s possible this OP weapon has been permanently burned to his hand, which could also mean it’s not working at its full potential (if at all).
