It’s new release Tuesday and you might be looking for a movie (or movies) to watch over Thanksgiving weekend. Here are our top picks for the week followed by a full list of new Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray titles.
Crazy Rich Asians (PG-13) from director Jon M. Chu was one of the summer’s hottest movies and great film for the holidays. The romantic comedy based on the bestselling book is now available on both Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray in combo editions from Warner Bros., each with an extra disc, digital copy, and some bonus features.
The action film Kin, from the producers of Arrival and Stranger Things, is another movie worth checking out this week — although if you haven’t seen it you might try renting first. The PG-13 sci-fi stars Myles Truitt, Jack Reynor, Zoë Kravitz, James Franco, and Dennis Quaid about a boy who discovers a futuristic weapon. It’s the only other 4k Blu-ray release this week.
Lionsgate’s Blindspotting was another summer surprise. The film, with great reviews on both Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes, follows the character Collin as he tries to make it through his final three days of probation. The movie stars Daveed Diggs (Wonder) and was directed by Carlos López Estrada .
And, this collection from Criterion Collection is a must own for film aficionados. Ingmar Bergman’s Cinema comes with 39 movies spanning from 1946 to 2003 including 18 never before released by Criterion. It’s the most comprehensive collection of the director’s films to date, with a runtime of 4,477 minutes in a 30-disc set with photo book and other extras.
