This week we counted over 40 new Blu-ray releases including two on 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray. Here are some suggestions for the week followed by an extended list of new titles.
After emerging as a hit in movie theaters last April, A Quiet Place is one of the most anticipated home media releases and is available this week in both Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray combos with digital copies from Paramount.
Chappaquiddick leaves plenty of questions unanswered, but is still worth watching notably for Jason Clarke’s performance as Ted Kennedy — available on Blu-ray Disc and DVD only (a 4k Blu-ray release may be in the works) with a digital copy.
Criterion Collection has two new titles this week including Oscar-nominated Bull Durham (1996) starring Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon, and action film Dragon Inn (1967) from Chinese director/writer King Hu who won the “Golden Horse Award” for best screenplay.
And, on Ultra HD Blu-ray we suggest picking up The Equalizer (2014) available in both a common edition and SteelBook edition from Best Buy, and, A Quiet Place (2018) which offers superior picture quality to the 1080p Blu-ray. (Read a review of A Quiet Place.)
