Netflix has a lot of friends; a lot of business partners; a lot of connections. But when it comes time to penning a Thank You card, the first one goes to Sony. The Netflix blog has written a love letter of sorts to the PlayStation 3, recognizing the console as the leader in Netflix streaming. In the US and globally, the PS3 is the largest TV-connected platform in terms of Netflix viewing. At times in 2012, the PS3 even surpassed the PC. Of course, Sony is returning the love, with a mutually sweet letter from SCEA’s Business Development Senior VP, Phil Rosenberg, who notes the PS3 was the “first computer entertainment system to offer Netflix in full 1080p video resolution with 5.1-channel Dolby Digital Plus surround sound, and to offer post play, second screen controls, on device sign-up, and alternate audio options including subtitles.” The PS3 is also currently the only platform to experience a new voice user interface called “Max” that’s currently being tested.
