Universal has announced Cowboys & Aliens will be released to Blu-ray Disc and DVD on Dec. 6, 2011. The title will be available in a Blu-ray Combo Pack which includes an extended version of the film, along with DVD and digital copy. And, it looks like Universal will release the film in both Blu-ray and DVD packaging.

DirecTV and Dish Network customers now have access to titles from Sony Movie Channel streaming online. It’s been widely rumored that the new Xbox Dashboard will be unveiled November 15, and now there’s some leaked footage of what it may look like. AT&T U-verse customers who are hockey fans might not have NHL Network when the regular season starts on Oct. 6, after the two companies were unable to reach an agreement. AT&T says they were unable to reach a "fair, long-term deal" with the network which lead them to pull the plug last Saturday, Oct. 1.
Star Trek: The Next Generation is finally headed for Blu-ray Disc release, according to an official announcement from CBS Entertainment. The 178 episodes of the Star Trek series spanning from '87 - '94 (a total of 7 seasons) will release sequentially throughout 2012, starting with a "sampler" on January 12 which will include several popular episodes. The Blu-ray sampler, pictured above, will be called Star Trek: The Next Generation -- The Next Level, and include the pilot episode "Encounter at Farpoint," as well episodes "Sins of the Father" and "The Inner Light."
October is finally here! There are eight postseason MLB playoff games scheduled for this weekend. Starting tonight at 5:07 PM ET, the Tampa Bay Rays will face the Texas Rangers to head off the first American League Division games. Following at 8:37 PM ET, the Detroit Tigers will play the New York Yankees. The National League postseason games kick off tomorrow at 2:07 PM with the Arizona Diamondbacks facing the Milwaukee Brewers. Later, at 5:07 PM ET the St. Louis Cardinals will play the Philadelphia Phillies.
