2K Games and Gearbox have announced development of a sequel to the ’09 video game Borderlands. Like the original, Borderlands 2 will support Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC platforms, although no word yet on possible support for OSX. Actual release date wasn’t exactly black and white but would be after April 1, 2012 (the start of Take-Two’s 2013 fiscal year). According to 2K, the sequel will introduce new characters, environments, enemies and weapons on the planet of Pandora. A special preview of Borderlands 2 will given at Gamescom 2011 from Aug. 17 through Aug. 21, and at PAX Prime (Booth #3417) from Aug. 26 through Aug. 28.
