‘Cape Fear’ headed for Blu-ray Disc

Universal will release the Martin Scorsese film Cape Fear on Blu-ray Disc this coming fall, marking 20 years since the movie’s theatrical release in 1991. In Cape Fear, Robert De Niro plays an over-the-top ex-con looking for revenge upon his former defense attorney played by Nick Nolte. Cape Fear was nominated for two Academy Awards including Best Actor (Robert De Niro) and Best Supporting Actress (Juliette Lewis ). The film is a remake of the 1962 release starring Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum.

Cape Fear is presented on a single-sided BD-50 at 1080p resolution with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. Bonus content includes featurettes “The Making of Cape Fear,” “Behind the Scenes of the Fourth of July Parade,” and “On the Set of the Houseboat.” Blu-ray exclusive extras include My Scenes and Pocket BLU App. Official street date is October 18, 2011.
