DirecTV launches hi-def channel ShortsHD

DirecTV has launched ShortsHD on channel 568, as well as offering titles from the network on demand on DirecTV channel 1568. The new channel, which showcases short movies in a wide range of genres, is available to DirecTV customers who subscribe to the HD Extra Pack.

On ShortsHD, movies are blocked into 30 and 60 minute themes with genres such as comedy, musical, documentary, thriller, drama and animation.

“Short movies are addictive. The audiences are passionate and growing,” said ShortsHD Chief Executive, Carter Pilcher.

AT&T first debuted ShortsHD on its U-verse TV service back in July, 2009.
