Dish Network settles with 46 states

Dish Network, who was involved in disputes with 46 states regarding advertising and telemarketing practices, has entered into a $5.9M settlement with the states to make amends with customers who filed complaints.

Reports from the web have revealed some of the damages states will receive: Washington state will net $325,000, Nevada will receive $125,000, and Nebraska’s share will be $125,000.

The 46 states who will receive settlements are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

DISH Network Corporation provides services to approximately 13.5 million satellite TV customers as of March 31, 2009.
