Finding HD channels

hdtvA new website has been launched that will provide you information on what HD channels are available in your zip code. WhereIsHD.com, run by Media Business Corp. out of Lakewood, Colorado, seems to have put their finger on one of the missing elements to this whole evolution of high definition broadcasting.

HD channels can be spread out over your channel guide. They can be in the middle hundreds, or in the high hundreds, or in the single digits as are local HD broadcasts such as CBS. WhereIsHD.com provides you with a listing in order of the available channels through service providers in your area.

High-definition channel offerings also vary between service providers. By using this resource, one could research the available HD channels before deciding or switching to a particular provider. The only thing WhereIsHD.com doesn’t cover, is what is available on VOD HD.

CheckHD.com was a site that previously provided HD channel listings by area, but was taken down early last year. TitanTV,com is a site that has been around for a while and recently updated their website to be more “video” focused. They offer a full television schedule to registered users and the ability to click “HD Only” to view only HD listings.
