The-Mummy-Ultimate-Trilogy-4k-Ultra-HD-Blu-ray-720pIf you’re a fan of the The Mummy franchise you might be happy to know Universal Studios Home Entertainment is releasing The Mummy Ultimate Trilogy with The Mummy (1999), The Mummy Returns (2001) and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008) on May 16, 2017.

More importantly, the films have been reformatted for release on 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray, with 4-times the pixel resolution of standard Blu-ray at 3840 x 2160 lines and up to 60 frames-per-second frame rate. We don’t know yet if the UHD BDs will include an HDR layer. We’re also waiting on audio specifications.

The 6-disc set also comes with quite a few extras including feature commentary on each Ultra HD Blu-ray and bonuses on each standard Blu-ray Disc. In all, ‘Ultimate Trilogy’ provides three formats of the film (4k Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and Digital HD) with digital redemption codes with each standard Blu-ray version.

Pre-orders of the $79.99 (MSRP) boxed set are currently selling for $47.86 on Amazon. The edition will also be offered with Fandango Cash, and that option is selling for $54.99.
