Alien 3 (1992) is only $4.99 today in Digital HD on Apple iTunes. The movie is regularly priced $14.99 making it a great deal for the third movie in the Alien franchise.
If you remember, this is the Alien installment in which Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) crashes on Fiorina 161 where inmates from a maximum-security prison recover her. The population quickly learns though it would have been better if the escape pod landed elsewhere.
Alien 3 isn’t available in 4k or on Ultra HD Blu-ray yet (if it’s as good as the original Alien 4k release we can’t wait), but if Apple holds its promise the Digital HD version should automatically be updated to 4k if they every get licensing rights to the higher quality version.
Don’t hold us to it though. Since FOX is now owned by Disney the 4k versions may show up on Disney+ first, along with much anticipated 4k upgrades to Star Wars films, the MCU franchise including Avengers: Endgame, and other Disney-owned titles.
