Warner Bros.’ Godzilla: King of the Monsters hasn’t done as well as expected at the box office (especially considering its $170M budget), but it’s a fun ride for anyone who’s a fan of the Japanese character and of monster films in general.
Given the scale of Godzilla and other titans making appearances including Mothra, Rodan, and the 3-headed Ghidorah we strongly suggest checking out the movie on the big screen while still in theaters this summer, but if you’re not able to make it out the Blu-ray, 4k Blu-ray and DVD releases of Godzilla: King of the Monsters should be right around the corner.
[Update: Godzilla: King of the Monsters official release date, details & disc specs.] Warner Home Media hasn’t officially announced a release date or details for the home media versions of Godzilla: King of the Monsters but the 2-disc Blu-ray ($24.99) and 2-disc 4k Blu-ray ($29.99) combos are available to pre-order from Amazon. Best Buy also has a 3D Blu-ray combo listed for $29.99 as well as an exclusive limited edition 4k Blu-ray SteelBook. In all, the store has four Blu-ray versions currently listed so we’ll be looking closely at what those editions look like.
If you’ve gone all digital Apple and FandangoNow are already offering pre-orders of Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 4k UHD for $19.99. The digital versions are expected at least two weeks before the Blu-rays arrive.
