This month there are plenty of 4k Blu-rays to get excited about. Of course, you can talk about what will likely be the biggest seller: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. But did you know there will also be a Jurassic World: 5-Movie Collection hitting stores? Both of those titles release on Tuesday, Sept. 18, and as far as we know there are no other 4k titles competing for sales that day.
But before the Jurassic Park editions there are several movies we should mention releasing one week earlier on Sept. 11 including DC Universe’s Batman: Assault on Arkham (2014) and Batman: The Killing Joke (2016), Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood (2010), John Carpenter’s Christine (1983) based on the Steven King novel, and the newest ‘Ocean’s’ film — Ocean’s 8 (2018).
The last week of September will bring at least seven new 4k Blu-ray titles including The Punisher (2004) and Punisher: War Zone (2008), Uncle Drew (2018), Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich (2018), and Halloween (1978). It will also be interesting to see how many copies of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) are sold when the movie hits disc formats for the first time, especially considering how it didn’t do so well with fans. And, two 4k movies you can easily find on BestBuy.com (not so easily on Amazon) are Doctor Who: Twice Upon a Time (2017) and the X-Men Trilogy, all of which release on Sept. 25, 2018.
