There are some who call Tom Cruise’s The Mummy mediocre and plot-predictable, but it’s an exciting and well-shot film nevertheless. On Blu-ray, The Mummy (2017) will shake your home theaters with an immersive Dolby Atmos soundtrack, and, those who want to dig deeper into the making of the film can view bonus features such as deleted and extended scenes, nine featurettes, and audio commentary with director/producer Alex Kurtzman and several cast members.
Other mentionable movies releases include the animated feature Captain Underpants: First Epic starring Kevin Hart, the horror/mystery It Comes At Night from A24, and Criterion Collection’s remastered Festival (1967) about the Newport Folk Festival from the years 1963-1966.
And, there are quite a few Blu-ray reissues like 48 Hrs. (1982), Flashdance (1983), and Friday the 13th: Uncut (1979), to name a few.
From television we’ve got several new Blu-ray releases this week. The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Tenth Season hits stores, along with Silicon Valley Season 4, and Veep: Season 6.
