Nvidia’s Shield TV device turned some heads when it was released in 2015. It was an ambitious media streaming tool that attempted to undercut gaming consoles with a mix of media streaming options and gameplay possibilities.
However, it is the 2017 edition of the Nvidia Shield TV that realizes much of the untapped potential of the original edition and includes several quality-of-life-improvements that make it a surprisingly versatile home entertainment centerpiece.
The star of the Shield TV show, however, is a little PC game streaming service called GeForce Now that may just be the best way to bring PC gaming to your living room outside of setting up a computer next to your couch.
Even with all these features, does the Nvidia Shield TV 2017 justify its higher price tag? Is this the best streaming device out there or simply an ambitious option for those who demand a little more than Netflix from their streaming device?
