Nvidia Shield TV 2017 Review: An Ambitious (And Maybe Essential) Streaming Device

Nvidia’s Shield TV device turned some heads when it was released in 2015. It was an ambitious media streaming tool that attempted to undercut gaming consoles with a mix of media streaming options and gameplay possibilities.

However, it is the 2017 edition of the Nvidia Shield TV that realizes much of the untapped potential of the original edition and includes several quality-of-life-improvements that make it a surprisingly versatile home entertainment centerpiece.

Even with all these features, does the Nvidia Shield TV 2017 justify its higher price tag? Is this the best streaming device out there or simply an ambitious option for those who demand a little more than Netflix from their streaming device?
