We’re half way through the year 2017 and it’s time when we ask you, the reader, to help us rank the best Ultra HD Blu-rays so far. This short list of titles is determined by popularity both in sales and in reader interest, so please don’t get upset if your favorite title isn’t included! (Use the comments below if you want to chime in.) Keep in mind we tried not to repeat franchise titles or include movie collections. We’ll publish the results in an upcoming article.

Honorable mentions that didn’t make the final 10 include the Ultra HD Blu-ray titles 3:10 to Yuma, Assassin’s Creed, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Furious 7, Hidden Figures, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, and The Great Wall.
At the end of last year our own internal poll voted Star Trek the best Ultra HD Blu-ray release of 2016, followed by The Martian: Extended Edition and Mad Max: Fury Road.

For me Arrival looked the best but I don’t have half the titles. Sometimes it could have a lot to do with the settings on your TV or the lighting you watch the movie in. Hacksaw Ridge was very detailed. Sing, not even sure why animated films need that extra resolution. A waste of money if you ask me.
I agree. Passengers is spectacular. But Planet Earth II? If voting for entertainment Passengers, Arrival, or maybe Hacksaw Ridge. But in terms of sheer image beauty? Gotta go with the documentary.
Arrival to me is the obvious choice for the best movie of the bunch, and it looks great, but I had to vote for Passengers in the context of 4K. That movie is good too, but also overwhelmingly gorgeous…
