In the Action/Animation genre this week is the highly anticipated release of Batman: the Killing Joke starring Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker. The 2-disc Blu-ray combo edition comes with DVD and Digital UV Copy. In Comedy/Romance The Lobster starring Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz releases to Blu-ray in a combo edition with Digital HD copy. And, in the Horror/Sci-Fi genre Shout! Factory releases a Collector’s Edition of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1978): the cast of the Philip Kaufman-directed film includes great actors like Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Jeff Goldblum and Leonard Nimoy.
This week there are quite a few TV series releasing to Blu-ray. Season 2 of HBO’s turn-of-the-century drama The Knick hits stores on disc Tuesday, August 2nd. The Blu-ray edition packs all ten episodes on 4 discs along with some bonus content. The Blacklist: The Complete Third Season starring James Spader releases to a 5-disc edition from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. And, Blindspot: The Complete First Season comes from Warner Home Video in a 4-disc edition with Digital HD copies and plenty of extras.
