There has been quite a bit of hype about Avengers: Age of Ultron releasing to Digital HD weeks before Blu-ray Disc, and surely the Marvel blockbuster would have dominated the disc releases this week. But there are several popular TV shows that might get you over to your local Best Buy, Target, or wherever you purchase BDs. Here’s where we highlight a few select titles for the week, as well as offer an extended list of new releases below.
Supernatural: The Complete Tenth Season
The Complete Tenth Season of Supernatural is now available on Blu-ray Disc in a 4-disc edition from Warner Home Video. The edition includes all 23 episodes from the 2014/2015 season, along with bonus featurettes such as “Supernatural Theatre: Staging The 200th Episode,” “Supernatural FANS,” and “Supernatural at Comic-Con 2014,” as well as audio commentaries, deleted scenes, and a gag reel. The multi-format edition also includes Digital HD copies with a redeemable code through UltraViolet partners. Audio is provided in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, with video formatted in 16×9 1.78:1 aspect ratio. Price: $34.99
Gotham: The Complete First Season
Gotham: The Complete First Season also comes from Warner Home Video this week in a 4-disc edition. In addition to Digital HD copies of each of the show’s 22 episodes (redeemable with UltraViolet), the combo edition includes unaired scenes, a gag reel, character profiles, and the featurettes “Gotham Invented,” “Gotham: The Legend Reborn,” and “DC Comics Night at Comic-Con 2014.” Audio is provided in English 5.1 Dolby Digital, with video formatted in 1.78:1 widescreen aspect ratio. Price: $44.99
Homeland: The Complete Fourth Season
And, 20th Century Fox has released the fourth season of Homeland to Blu-ray. Along with all 12 episodes from 2014, special features in the 3-disc edition include “Homeland Character Profiles” and “Script to Screen” featurettes. Audio is provided in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 with 1080p video at 1.78:1 widescreen aspect ratio. Price: $27.99
