Today, DirecTV added the Longhorn Network to their HD channel lineup, that airs over 175 exclusive events a year from University of Texas varsity sports teams. The channel also broadcasts shows such as the daily Longhorn Extra news update, game analysis in shows such as Rewind with Charlie Strong, and the two-hour pre-game show Texas GameDay, among other original programming. The network can be found (in HD only) on Channel 677 in the DirecTV lineup.
Customers who live in Texas can get the Longhorn Network as part of the CHOICE package or above. Out-of-state customers can get the new channel in the DIRECTV Sports Pack.
Along with the Longhorn Network, DirecTV also added Fusion HD to their lineup on Channel 342. The English-speaking network targets an “inclusive America” with lifestyle and pop culture programming, investigative journalism, comedy, and original television series and documentaries.
The addition of the channels is a result of a new deal announced early this month with Disney, partial owner of both networks.
DirecTV also recently added ESPN Buzzer Channel as part of the deal. The part-time channel can be found on DirecTV 615.
