Dish subscribers may lose CBS tonight [update]

After a second extension to keep CBS channels on Dish has expired, subscribers tonight may find CBS and CBS Sports channels blacked out after 7:00 p.m. Eastern. The original agreement between the two companies ran out on November 20th.

“We would very much like to avoid going dark, thereby joining the more than 120 stations Dish has dropped since 2013 alone,” said CBS in a statement.

This isn’t the only dispute Dish has with programmers. The company was unable to negotiate a contract with Turner Broadcasting and as a result subscribers were unable to get eight channels for as long as a month including Adult Swim, CNN, and Turner Classic Movies. Dish narrowly avoided losing flagship Turner channels TBS and TNT when a temporary contract was agreed upon.

Are you a Dish subscriber who has lost CBS channels tonight? Let us know in the comments.

[Update 1: CBS says the channels will remain on Dish as negotiations continue into this evening.]

[Update 2: As of early Saturday morning, Dec. 6, CBS & Dish came to an agreement.]
