Samsung is offering a free 4k Movie Pack for those who purchase select Samsung 4k ‘Ultra HD’ TVs. The movies come on a 1TB external hard drive that plugs into your Samsung TV via USB to play native 4k video content. The Samsung 2013 model (CY-SUC10SH), priced at $299, is the hard drive Samsung will ship (don’t get it confused with the newer, 2014 model (CY-SUC10SH1) that costs $399).
4k titles pre-loaded on the hard drive include Night at the Museum, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Counselor, GI Joe: Retaliation, and World War Z. It’s hard to put an exact price on the value of the movies, but considering Sony’s 4k titles start at $29.99, you could value the movie pack at $150.
But this deal ends in one week, on September 5, 2014. That means the qualifying Samsung 4k TV needs to be purchased by that date. And, you need to register the claim within 30 days of purchasing. The least expensive model that qualifies for the UHD Movie Pack is the Samsung 50-inch HU8550, list-priced at $2,499 but currently available for $1,597.
Qualifying Samsung models include: UN55HU9000, UN65HU9000, UN78HU9000, UN55HU8700, UN65HU8700, UN50HU8550, UN55HU8550, UN60HU8550, UN65HU8550, UN75HU8550, UN50HU8500, UN55HU8500, UN60HU8500, UN65HU8500, UN75HU8500, and UN85HU8550.
