Yesterday DIRECTV launched MAVTV, a network dedicated to “American” stories in film, sports, drama, cooking, action and other genres of programming. Original shows from MAVTV include titles such as “Action Zone,” “Catch and Cook,” “Dangerous Waters,” and “Ice Cold Cash.” Films showing on MAVTV this month include 88 Minutes, Arlington Road, High School High, and The Quick and the Dead, among others. Although MAVTV prides itself on delivering all-HD programming, DIRECTV is only currently broadcasting the channel in SD. (DISH Network subscribers can find the network on Channel 361.) Contact DIRECTV if you want to get MAVTV in High-Definition.
With the addition of DIRECTV subscribers, MAVTV now reaches over 26 million households in the US. MAVTV is owned by California-based oil company Lucas Oil.
