Paramount’s Star Trek Into Darkness is now available to pre-order in both a Blu-ray 3D and standard Blu-ray combo pack. Each edition also includes a DVD and Digital Copy of the film, so you can watch the film virtually wherever. Although the actual home media release date has not been announced, Paramount has set the MSRPs on each edition. Star Trek Into Darkness (Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy) carries an MSRP of $54.99, while Star Trek Into Darkness (Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy) lists at $39.99. There’s also a DVD-only version that lists for $29.99.
We looked into pre-order pricing which is much more realistic. Amazon is selling the Blu-ray 3D edition for $24.99, and the standard Blu-ray edition for $19.99. For serious Trekkies, Amazon is also offering a Star Trek Into Darkness Starfleet Phaser Limited Edition Gift Set (Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack) for $79.99 (List: $99.99). The DVD-only edition can be pre-ordered for $16.99.
Best Buy has the Blu-ray 3D edition for $29.99, and the standard Blu-ray for $22.99. Although priced slightly higher than Amazon, Best Buy is also offering up to $8 in Movie Money towards adult admission to Star Trek Into Darkness for those who pre-order, along with CinemaNow access to the film before the disc releases. The Movie Money code and certificate expires 7/31/2013.
