Are we hours away from the announcement of a new PlayStation console? Looks like it. Sony has a big event starting at 6:00pm in New York City tomorrow, and numerous sources say it’s all for the debut of the PlayStation 4 (or Orbis?). The Wall Street Journal has already reported that the new console will stream games, similar to what OnLive does, or what Netflix and others do with movies. But the biggest question right now is just how many questions will be answered. Here’s a checklist of the details we’ll be watching for and of course reporting on.
Tech specs: Processor? SSD storage? Blu-ray drive? 4K?
Games: Will anything be playable? If not, when? What?
Entertainment center: Will Sony carve a new path towards living room domination?
Controller: A major redesign of the DualShock, or just a tweaking?
Backwards Compatibility: Is the streaming option gonna take care of PS3 titles?
Name: What’s it’s called?
Price: Has Sony learned their lesson from the $600 PS3 fiasco?
Release date: When’s it coming out?
