Dish Network announced today the company is now shipping the new Hopper with Sling Whole-Home HD DVR. The Hopper lets you take Dish programming (live and recorded) wherever you are using the DISH Anywhere app, and download DVR content to your iPad using the Hopper Transfers app. Previous features such AutoHop, PrimeTime Anytime, and up to 500 hours of HD recording time (2,000 hours SD) have been carried over to the new Hopper.
If you’ve been listening, the Hopper with Sling won the 2013 CES Best of Show award after some controversy. The Dish Network technology allows live or recorded TV broadcasts to be watchable on iOS and Android smartphones, PCs and Macs.
“The magic of Hopper with Sling is that it redefines how customers think about their pay-TV experience,” said Joe Clayton, Dish president and CEO.
Dish will be launching a series of TV, radio, print and digital advertisements featuring Dish’s Boston Guys.
The Hopper system requires a whole-home DVR fee of $10 per month and $7 per month for each Joey.
