A release date for The Dark Knight Rises on Blu-ray, DVD and UltraViolet Digital Download has been revealed as Dec. 3, 2012. One home media edition contains two Blu-ray Discs, one DVD, and license for UltraViolet copy (via Blu-ray.com). The format of the BDs is listed as 1080p MPEG-4 AVC at the original 2.39:1 widescreen aspect ratio, with a total run time of 165 minutes. For those of you hoping for a director’s cut at this point in time, your hopes were recently extinguished by inside sources who say there are no plans for an extended version. Although, some deleted scenes and director’s commentaries in the Dec. 3 release would be a real treat. We’ll let you know as soon as pre-orders are available. You can also view the theatrical trailer for The Dark Knight Rises below that ends with a slate promising a Blu-ray and Digital Download are coming soon.
[UPDATE] Warner Bros. apparently jumped the gun on the release date. Although the YouTube video indicated Dec. 3 as the release date, the trailer has been pulled. See for yourself below. We’ll keep you updated.
