NBA Playoffs ratings killing it

The NBA’s 2012 Playoffs have been killing it in Nielsen ratings. Last week’s Celtics vs. Heat games pulled in close to 35 million viewers for just 3 games (June 5th, 7th, and 9th). Those ESPN games were only followed in ratings by TNT’s coverage of two of the Spurs vs. Thunder games (June 4th, and 6th) which totaled close to 18 million viewers. Those five games lead the most watched shows of the week spanning June 4 through June 10. But the NBA’s dominance didn’t end with the Eastern and Western divisional finals. Last night’s Heat vs. Thunder game earned an 11.8 overnight Nielsen rating, setting a record for ABC’s highest ever Game 1 viewership ratings. Don’t miss Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Thursday, June 14 starting at 9:00 pm Eastern. And make sure you’re watching the game in HD!
