Will Microsoft launch a $99 Xbox console next week? We can’t imagine the Xbox going for half the price of the $199 model. But, if Microsoft did offer an Xbox that cheap there would have to be a caveat — meaning, a monthly subscription. Verge.com claims the Xbox 360 (complete with Kinect sensor) will require a two-year agreement of $15 per month. What’s more, Verge says the monthly fee will give you Xbox Live Gold service and a two-year warranty. Seems like a heck-of-a-deal except for the commitment part, which sources claim you’ll be able to get out of by paying an early termination fee. Anyone believe this story?
