Wal-Mart has officially launched their disc-to-digital program which lets you store copies of your DVDs and Blu-rays in the cloud via VUDU. And, VUDU is now UltraViolet compatible, letting you watch you UltraViolet enabled movies on any VUDU-compatible device at no extra charge. The service lets you purchase a digital license for movies and TV shows you own to stream and download via VUDU on PS3, Xbox 360, iPads, PCs, Blu-ray Players and HDTVs. How much does it cost? Standard Definition DVDs and Blu-rays with Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound cost $2 to transfer. VUDU also offers upgrades from DVDs to High-Definition ‘HDX’ format for $5 per title. To use the service just visit a Wal-Mart photo department or start with creating an online order. And don’t forget to bring along your discs!
