Warner Bros. Home Video has announced a 31-disc boxed set containing all ‘Harry Potter’ movies to date on Blu-ray Disc and DVD. The Wizard’s Collection will contain over 37 hours of extra features including 10 hours of new content and 5 hours of never-before-seen content. The boxed set (which folds out into a jewelry box-type configuration) contains concept art prints, catalogs of props and posters, and a map of Hogwarts. The Wizard’s Collection also contains access codes for UltraViolet copies to stream or download from the cloud. The special edition is slated for release on September 7, 2012 with a hefty suggested retail price of $499.99. (For special pre-order pricing see below.)
Discs included in the Wizard’s Collection include: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (theatrical and extended cuts); Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (theatrical and extended cuts); Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban; Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix; Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 (2D and 3D editions); and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2 (2D and 3D editions).
The website for the Wizard’s Collection might be just as hefty as the box set. It’s a nice Flash site but you might be waiting a long time for this one download, even with decent bandwidth. Some features aren’t launched yet but you can get a widget code which is basically an ad with a countdown to release date.
