Xbox Live’s most played games of 2011

Using a rusty old abacus, the totals have been tallied, and we now know what games lured the most people onto Xbox Live in 2011. The winner? Take a wild guess. Did you say Call of Duty: Black Ops? Yup, you got it. You’re good. Going by unique users who connected to Xbox Live between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011, Black Ops reigned supreme, followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Modern Warfare 2, Halo: Reach and Battlefield 3. The first person shooter streak was stopped at #6 with Skyrim, followed by Gears of War 3, FIFA 12, FIFA Soccer 11, and Madden NFL 12 rounding out the top 10. The #1 arcade title for 2011 was Pinball FX2, followed by Full House Poker and Castle Crashers, with FortressCraft Chapter 1 being the top indie XBLA title on Live. Xbox’s Major Nelson has the complete list here.
