Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 has been released on Blu-ray and DVD today. The unconventional Friday release date (most DVDs and Blu-rays release on Tuesdays), follows ‘Deathly Hallows Part 1’ which released on a Friday last April. The second part and the final chapter of the Harry Potter franchise was first released to theaters in the U.S. on July 15, 2011 and grossed $169 million during the opening weekend. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 comes in several disc editions including a three-disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo, Blu-ray “Movie-Only” edition, and single-disc DVD. All disc editions will contain an UltraViolet Digital Copy, which could serve as a true test of the digital format’s viability.
