The latest film in Michael Bay’s ‘Transformers’ franchise will hit stores on September 30, 2011, bringing home the blockbuster hit that made $1.1 billion worldwide at the box office. “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” on Blu-ray Disc is getting full hi-def audio treatment, with English 7.1 Dolby TrueHD audio as well as tracks in 5.1 Discrete Dolby Digital and 2.0 Discrete Surround Dolby Digital — a first for Paramount Home Entertainment. Other languages with 5.1 Dolby Digital include French, Spanish, and Portuguese. Total run time for ‘Dark of the Moon’ is 154 minutes. No word on extras yet so it appears Paramount might eventually go for a double-dip. The film will be available in a Blu-ray/DVD Combo pack with digital copy ($29.99) or Single-disc DVD edition ($19.99).
