Flat black is cool these days, from cars to smartphones to computer monitors. There is something about a 50’s pickup truck in primer black that will never go out of style. That’s why Microsoft isn’t off with their latest decision to change the paint finish of the Xbox 360 250GB to matte black rather than glossy. Currently, the 4GB model sells in a matte finish — so the change isn’t a complete surprise. However, glossy finishes may be available in limited edition consoles. The news comes via Major Nelson’s blog, who also repudiated rumors that the console would be offered in either finish for the holidays. At least you won’t be cleaning as many fingerprints off future Xboxes. Nelson advices to get a glossy finish Xbox 360 S console now before they disappear from the shelves.
