The sequel to Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is now available for PS3 gamers. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is a third-person shooter created by Sony and game developer Naughty Dog. The game has added online multiplayer options including co-op and competitive campaigns.
In Among Thieves, fortune hunter Nathan Drake searches for the real truth behind the lost fleet of Marco Polo and Shangri-La (the mythical kingdom of Shambhala). Drake discovers Polo was hiding more than ships, the “Wish-fulfilling jewel” of Buddhist mythology is out there somewhere.
Although the game does not include local multiplayer mode, several online mutliplayer features have been added. Competitive Multiplayer allows up to 10 players to battle each other in bad guys vs. good guy matches. 4 Competitive Mutliplayer modes include ‘Deathmatch’, ‘Plunder’, ‘Elimination’ and ‘Chain Reaction’.
‘Deathmatch’ allows up to five vs. five players with customizable or pre-set game modes. ‘Plunder’ incorporates team cooperation to capture a treasure and transport back to base. ‘Elimination’ is a five vs. five mode where you basically have to eliminate the other team. ‘Chain Reaction’ is another “capture the flag” strategy except you must capture all five in a specific order.
And of course you have single player mode in which several improvements have been made to game play. More characters and new locations have been added. “Traversal gunplay” adds improved movements and combat capabilities even while climbing or hanging.
